The internationally-famous Cambridge Footlights bring their Edinburgh Fringe show CambridgeFootlightsCanada_Promotional_Imageacross the pond! The Footlights’s new show, Canada, is their sharpest and most ambitious yet. Surely a must-have ticket, don’t miss your chance to see the “most renowned sketch troupe of them all.” (The Independent.)

This is an extremely exciting year for the Footlights, as the club celebrates its 130th anniversary. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the first touring Footlights show in America, Clump of Plinths. Comprising John Cleese, Eric Idle, Bill Oddie and Graham Chapman among others, this show went on to perform on Broadway and form the basis of Monty Python. After the show transferred to Broadway in 1963, enjoying enormous success, the Footlights tour has maintained a superb reputation in the United States. This year will focus in particular on the scope of its ambition and range of venues at which it is performed in the USA.

Canada by Cambridge Footlights runs through the following dates:

Tuesday, September 10 – 9:00 pm
Wednesday, September 11 – 9:00 pm
Thursday, September 12 – 9:00 pm
