John Di Santo

Performer Independent Group Performer

John Di Santo is a member of Philadelphia improv favorites Rookie Card. After moving to Philly with his wife three years ago he enrolled in acting classes at the Wilma & Walnut Theaters. He studied long form improv for over 2 years with the amazing instructors at the Philly Improv Theater (PHIT). Rookie Card is an ensemble of very talented improvisers who are all former PHIT students.

John's earliest childhood memories took place in front of the TV as Bugs Bunny, Abbott & Costello & the Marx Brothers did their silly business for his amusement. He caught the acting bug early on, when he was chosen to play Frank Butler, the handsome womanizer, in the PS 97 fifth grade musical production of “Annie Get Your Gun”. It was not a commercial success and John sank into a deep depression.

Being easily discouraged and distracted, John did not attempt any further serious acting until he got a role playing a NY lawyer in 1994, when he graduated from law school.  The legal profession was like a creative forge, beating and hammering him into a shiny acting sword. John learned how to act like he knew what he was doing and how to act like he gave a shit. He is happy to have left that role behind for the pleasure of more performing and more time with his wife!
