Announcing Auditions for Three 2019 Fringe Festival Shows at PHIT!

Earlier this year we started the process of choosing acts for our 2019 Philly Fringe Festival run in September. We are happy to announce we have our shows and we are SO excited for what’s in store! Three of our shows are holding auditions for actors on Saturday, June 1st. Below you will find audition info and relevant links. We would like to strongly encourage performers of all ethnicities, genders, sizes, and abilities to audition. Any questions please email booking@phillyimprovtheater.com.

AUDITION DATE: Saturday, June 1st, 2019
AUDITION WINDOW
: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (10 minute audition slots)
LOCATION: 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
WHAT TO PREPARE
: One comedic monologue and one dramatic monologue.

2 BEDROOM, 1 BATH

“2 Bedroom 1 Bath” is a dramedy that examines grief through the duration of one year in a shared living space of differing roommates who are on the cusp of adulthood. Elise, an overachieving chronic intern, gets dumped by her unimpressive protein powder enthusiast boyfriend while in the process of losing her job. This throws off her carefully curated 5 year plan. Her once jovial friendship with her roommate, Maura, steadily deteriorates as their personalities Clash.

PARTY AT DEEDEE’S

A Great Coyote has been birthed from a dormant volcano and walks the Earth, quakes follow its footsteps. Pale spectres of the dead creep a story above the world’s pedestrians. Elephants are just blood now, or something? Everything’s falling apart and the Coyote told everyone the world is going to end in like two weeks, so DeeDee is throwing a party and nobody will have to be lonely. BYOB, don’t mess with the playlist.

EVERYBODY LOVES EACH OTHER THESE DAYS

This is a comedic play focusing on a pansexual man struggling with the code switching he worries is necessary for him to date and having to move in with his sister. After breaking up with his boyfriend, the main character develops a crush on his sister’s roommate. The situation is complicated because the main character now lives in the same apartment with his crush, who keeps making confusing comments about his sexuality, and his sister, who is opposed to him dating her roommate while all three of them are living together.
