INTRO TO ACTING

In PHIT’s acting classes students develop fundamental acting skills for performance. Students study script analysis, and also learn concepts like acting from action, objectives, and tactics. The last weeks of class focus on an exploration of two contrasting acting monologues. After class ends, students take part in a demonstration for family and friends. Finally, students are encouraged to see theater performances in Philadelphia and discuss them in class.

8 WEEK CLASSES INCLUDE: A student pass for FREE ADMISSION to shows at PHIT! The Graduation Show for family and friends! And more!

SCHOLARSHIPS

Philly Improv Theater seeks to create an environment which is supportive and welcoming to all people and reflects the experiences of the greater community in which we live. To achieve this goal, PHIT is proud to offer scholarships to individuals from historically marginalized communities, for whom the cost of tuition might otherwise pose a barrier.
