In PHIT’s acting classes students develop fundamental acting skills for performance. Students study script analysis, and also learn concepts like acting from action, objectives, and tactics. Finally, the last weeks of class focus on an exploration of two contrasting acting monologues. After class ends, students take part in a demonstration for family and friends. Finally, students are encouraged to see theater performances in Philadelphia and discuss them in class.

To achieve this goal, PHIT is proud to offer scholarships to individuals from historically marginalized communities, for whom the cost of tuition might otherwise pose a barrier.
