Introduction to Acting: In this class, students will explore basic acting skills fundamental to performance. Some concepts to be examined are action, objectives, tactics, and script analysis. This class will culminate in an exploration and showing of scenes and monologues. Viewing of theatrical performances in Philadelphia followed by a discussion will also be a part of this class.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Rachel O’Hanlon-Rodriguez is a Philadelphia based actor, spoken word artist, dramaturg and teacher. She has worked with a variety of local theater companies such as the Painted Bride Art Center, Azuka Theatre, The Wilma Theater, The Arden Theater, Simpatico Theatre, EgoPo Classic Theatre, and Director’s Gathering. As a founding member of Kaleid Theatre and Svaha Theatre Collective, Rachel is committed to developing new work in unconventional spaces.
