Introduction to Acting: In this class, students will explore basic acting skills fundamental to performance. Some concepts to be examined are action, objectives, tactics, and script analysis. This class will culminate in an exploration and showing of scenes and monologues. Viewing of theatrical performances in Philadelphia followed by a discussion will also be a part of this class.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Rebecca Havu recently relocated to Philadelphia from Boston where she obtained her BA in theatre with a concentration in acting from Suffolk University, followed by her MFA in theatre education from Emerson College. She has worked with Central Square Theater, the Modern Theater, Boston Children’s Theater, and the Actor’s Shakespeare Project. She has a wide variety of experience in different areas of theatre such as theatre for social justice, clown, solo performance, acting for the camera, and voice over. She is very excited to join the PHIT Comedy team to teach acting!
