Intro to Improvised Scenework: Students will learn the basic improv concept of “Yes, and..” and discover how a scene can be created through agreement. They will also learn important basic improv skills like: creating characters, establishing relationships, exploring scenes with objects and environment work. Students will then combine these skills to create fully improvised scenes with a partner. Meets once a week for eight weeks.
Dates: 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Class Location: ONLINE! PHIT’s online classes are taught via Zoom Video Conference and student’s receive a link to the virtual classroom at the start of the course, along with reminder links 15 minutes before the start of class each week.
Graduation Show Date/Time: To be determined. Student’s for this online class will have a virtual class show for family and friends, and will also be offered an in-person graduation performance once Philly Improv Theater is able to open for the public.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Wilfredo Diaz is a sketch writer/improvisor from New Jersey. He has been cast as an improviser on PHIT Comedy house team (IN SPACE) and has been part of other teams including Oculum, Motel, Long Story Short, StoryUp!, Reservation For One, and ¿Qué? (an all Spanish-speaking improv team except for one). Wilfredo has been featured in festivals such as SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival, Pittsburgh Comedy Festival, We The People Improv Festival, and Mad Ethnic Comedy Festival. When Wilfredo is not performing comedy, he enjoys spending his time divulging into sneaker culture.
