Intro to Stand-Up: This six week class will give you a basic, usable understanding of how to begin crafting a stand-up comedy act, from absolute beginner advice on stage presence to different approaches to generating material. Students will learn how to take their thoughts, experiences, and observations about life and blend them with their own unique sense of humor and personality to begin crafting their own routine. Includes class performance a the end of the course.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Alyssa Truszkowski is a sketch writer/performer and a stand-up comedian in Philadelphia. She is a member of Cups and a Half, a sketch team that performs frequently in Philadelphia. She is a former member of the house team, Fezziwig, and director of PHIT’s 2018 Halloween sketch show, “Sansom Street Hell House,” the 2019 holiday show at PHIT “The Mouse King Rises On Ice!” and a founding producer of Philly’s (formerly Bechdel Fest)
