Intro to Stand-Up: This six week class will give you a basic, usable understanding of how to begin crafting a stand-up comedy act, from absolute beginner advice on stage presence to different approaches to generating material. Students will learn how to take their thoughts, experiences, and observations about life and blend them with their own unique sense of humor and personality to begin crafting their own routine. Includes class performance a the end of the course.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Jake Mattera is a Philadelphia-based stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. He is a 2x finalist at Helium Comedy’s Philly’s Phunniest competition and a semi-finalist at the Boston Comedy Festival. Jake has been invited to perform at many prestigious festivals all over the country including: Big Sky Comedy Festival, Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest and more.
