Intermediate Short-Form Improv Camp: This camp is for middle schoolers who have already taken improv courses and are ready to advance and polish their technique. In this week-long intensive, students will continue developing their short-form improvisation skills beyond the basics. The sessions will focus on developing more advanced skills in character creation, object and environment work, miming, and more in order to confidently play in a variety of games. The first half of the week will focus on the intermediate improv comedy skillset and the second half will focus on playing and performing short-form games in preparation for the culminating invited performance of a short-form set on the final day of the week.
Prerequisites: Completion of two sessions of Beginner Short-Form Improv at Philly Improv Theater or completion of the Beginner Short-Form Improv Camp.

Time: 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day, except 8/2 (see below). Optional before care (from 8:00 a.m.) and after care (until 6:00 p.m.) offered.

Sarah has been on the teaching faculty of the PHIT Kids and Teens program since 2015. She has a BA in Theater and Music from Monmouth University and has worked with Shadow Lawn Stage and the Acting Company. Sarah brought her original musical “Only in Your Dreams” to last year’s Fringe stage. She can also be seen performing in the Family Friendly show, her sketch duo Kathryn and Sarah; and StoryUp! an interactive children’s show. She’s the creator and director of the original musical, Becoming Vegan. Sarah has studied improv at the Philly Improv Theater under Greg Maughan, Nick Gillette, Kristen Schier, Jess Snow, and Brian Rumble. She also has studied musical improv under Jerome Kurtenbach. When not involved in teaching or performing improv, Sarah can be found teaching music to children of all ages.
