Long-Form Improv: Students will practice the art of long-form improvisation by learning the key concept of “Yes, and..”. They will also learn important improv skills like: listening, creating characters, establishing relationships, exploring scenes with objects, and environment work. Integrating more advanced concepts, students will then combine these skills to create fully improvised scenes with a partner and discover how scenes can grow through agreement and support. The class will culminate in a live, fully improvised performance for families and invited guests.

Prerequisites: None!

Kelly Conrad

ABOUT KELLY

Kelly is a Philly based performer who hails from Ramstein, Germany. She graduated from Suffolk University with a BA in Theatre Arts. Member of former House Teams Hooch and The Decoy, Kelly currently improvises with Not Yet Rated and POC Comedy Troupe NYTE Shift. Other PHIT productions include Up All Night, Stay Dead and House of Solitude Presents: McNickel. You can also see her in Girl Poop, Barbara Bush: The Body Show, The Worst Generation: Celebrity Insurance, and short film Hero for Hire. Recent Theatre productions include Theater Unspeakable’s American Revolution (Arden Theatre) and Antigravity Performance Project’s Dear Diary LOL (New Ohio Theatre-Ice Factory 25). When not working her day job or performing, Kelly enjoys traveling, but can’t afford that so she takes herself out to dinner and a movie.
