Long-Form Improv: Students will practice the art of long-form improvisation by learning the key concept of “Yes, and..”. They will also learn important improv skills like: listening, creating characters, establishing relationships, exploring scenes with objects, and environment work. Integrating more advanced concepts, students will then combine these skills to create fully improvised scenes with a partner and discover how scenes can grow through agreement and support. The class will culminate in a live, fully improvised performance for families and invited guests.

Joe is from Norristown, PA, and is a very proud member of PHIT House Team This is Your Captain. He is also a member of the indie sketch group Corn Teeth and the indie improv team Bill Parks, who happen to host Philadelphia’s newest place for independent and experimental comedy, known simply as “The Brewery”. Joe began his improv journey way back in the year 2013 when he began to study improv at PHIT under Alex Gross, Mike Marbach, and Steve Kleindedler. Joe has also taken sketch classes at PHIT under Brian Kelly and Paul Triggiani. If you ever see Joe in person, you should ask about the “Alligator Incident” or just say hi or bake him a pie because pie is nice.
