Sarah Builds a Show**

May 2 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Sarah Builds a Show**
**gets yelled at and probably cries.

Birth can be both beautiful and disgusting. Join Sarah Knittel as she creates her baby, her new show, right in front of an audience– blood, sweat, tears, after birth and all. Her midwife, a monthly rotating director/clown provocateur who will live direct this high art, comedy experiment.

A performer, writer, teaching artist, and improviser. Watching her perform on a stage has been described as “totally engaging” and “the work of a pro, fearlessly engaging the audience from start to finish, until we are all practically co-stars, or at least co-conspirators.” (Broad St Review)  In 2017, she was named the inaugural Automatic Arts Artist in Residence and one of Phindie’s “Philly Actors Who Are Better Than You (at acting)…” The creator of NIGHTMARE FUEL, a brutal clown show, which was one of the recipients of 1812’s Jilline Ringle Fund. It garnered four stars in Edinburgh Fringe and was hailed as “a quintessential niche fringe experience” by the Wee Review. In Philadelphia, she has worked with Antigravity Theater Project, Pig Iron Theater Co., the Philadelphia Artists Collective, Johnny Shortcake, Hedgerow, Curio Theatre Co., and Hella Fresh Theater company. Sarah has been a member of the improv community for the past five years performing on the N Crowd, Philadelphia’s longest running short form team and Period Belly, musical improv duo. A graduate of the Pig Iron School Advanced Performance Training for Physical and Devised Theater and Medicine as well as New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
